A few years ago I had to bring Luna to the vet for an emergency visit. She was super sick and not keeping her food down. Luckily, she was just really dehydrated, so after being injected with a fluid “bubble” she was almost as good as new. The whole experience left me crazy scared, but it also taught me that my dog was weird and didn’t always drink enough water even when it was readily available.

So ever since then I’ve added a bit of water to each of her meals to make sure she won’t get dehydrated again. Fortunately, we haven’t had to make any other rushes to her veterinarian’s office! But, I’ve also been looking for a way to provide hydration while also providing valuable nutrients and I think I’ve found it with Caru’s Grass-Fed Beef Bone Broth.

And you are about to find out why because Caru has agreed to sponsor Day 3 of this year’s Stocking Stuffer Giveaways. (Did you miss Day 2? Find it here!)

Beagles & Bargains Stocking Stuffer Giveaways 2016 - Day 3 - Caru Bone Broth

Beagles & Bargains Stocking Stuffer Giveaways Disclaimer

To start, I’ve been impressed with Caru for quite some time. Luna has always enjoyed their Soft ‘n Tasty Baked Bites and Bars. They have a wide variety of flavors from Alligator to Wild Boar and none of their treats contain wheet, gluten, corn, soy, or any animal by-products.

Caru is also well known for their natural stews and the Tetra Pak cartons that they come in. Recently Caru added to this product line with their Grass-Feed Beef Bone Broth.

Just like the stews, the bone broth is 100% made with human grade ingredients that you actually recognize! All that is in the bone broth is Water Sufficient for Processing, Beef Bones, Organic Carrots, Organic Celery, Organic Parsley, Apple Cider Vinegar, Black Peppercorns, Bay Leaves, and Thyme. And those beef bones are USDA-inspected plus antibiotic and hormone free.

Luna loves Caru Grass-Fed Beef Bone Broth

Caru’s Bone Broth is made right here in the USA in small batches and is designed for even finicky eaters to enjoy. Though your dog (or cat) will think it is homemade, serving this is a whole lot easier than making your own bone broth!

Caru’s Grass-Fed Beef Bone Broth has a lot of potential uses. Like us, you can use it to moisten dry kibble or you can pour it over raw or dehydrated food. You can also warm it up and serve it as a delicious treat or freeze it into tasty pupsicles. And if you want to get fancy, you could cut up some fresh veggies like carrots, kale, spinach, etc. and add it to a warmed bowl of broth for a nice winter soup.

The Tetra Paks are specially designed to be easy to open and easy to close up. Unused portions of the bone broth will keep for up to 7 days in your refrigerator.

So why do I think this will be a new regular addition to meal time? Well, after Luna finished her first meal topped with Caru’s Beef Bone Broth, she let out this adorable howl/coo thing that sounded like she was trying to roll her R’s. It was a sound we had never heard before, but one I would LOVE to hear again. My boyfriend described it as her way of saying “That was delicious!”
