A few months ago I was hoping for warmer weather, so I started planning a summer full of fun activities. Many of these activities take place outside, so preventing flea and ticks on Luna was also on my mind.
About that same time, I came across a few different articles about why the writer decided to make a move to natural flea and tick control. I’m not an expert about ingredients, but something really stuck with me. I couldn’t wrap my mind around putting something directly onto my best friend that was dangerous for me to touch.
That unsettling feeling got me searching for natural alternatives, so I was very excited when the opportunity to review Wondercide’s Natural Flea and Tick Control arose.
Wondercide is focused on providing natural and organic solutions for pets, people, and property. It was founded by inspirations from another Luna. This Luna, an Akita-Husky mix, became severely ill from pesticide poisoning in 2008 with symptoms ranging from skin issues to kidney failure. Luna’s mom, Stephanie Boone, did her research and founded Wondercide on natural principles. Today Luna is happy and healthy and just celebrated her 15th birthday.
We were given a sample of Wondercide’s EVOLV Natural Flea and Tick Control to try. EVOLV comes in two different fragrance options: Cedar or Lemongrass, and both have a very small ingredients list.
Ingredients:
CEDAR: organic cedarwood oil (active), hydrated silica (inert)
LEMONGRASS: organic cedarwood oil (active), therapeutic grade lemongrass oil (active), hydrated silica (inert)
Our sample was a 4 oz bottle with the Cedar fragrance and we brought it with us on our first camping trip a few weekends ago. After returning home, Luna was inspected for fleas and ticks, but none were found. This makes Wondercide EVOLV Natural Flea and Tick Control a success for me.
It was easy to apply and left Luna smelling clean and fresh. I wasn’t afraid to touch her after application and there was no wet or greasy residue.
We will be continuing to use Wondercide regularly and will test it again on our first two day camping trip in mid July.
EVOLV is safe way to repel and kill fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes on both dogs and cats of all ages. It is recommended to test a small area a day before full application on puppies, senior dogs, and cats for their sensitivity.
Some of the reasons I am loving using Wondercide is that I can actually touch it and I feel good knowing that this solution is safe for Luna. The instructions are super simple and easy to remember.
According to Wondercide’s website, the instructions are as follows:
- Rub your hand in the opposite direction of the coat.
- Mist the hide.
- Cover the body, legs, tail, belly, and armpits.
- Dispense into hands to rub on animal’s ears and face.
- Spray once a week or as needed for desired results.
There are several different options to buy EVOLV. The 4 oz bottle costs $12.95. You can also purchase a 16 oz bottle for $24.99 or two 16 oz bottles for $42.99. If you are interested in trying out EVOLV without fully committing, Wondercide also offers a 1 oz trial (affiliate link) for only $1.99.
According to Wondercide’s website a 16 oz bottle lasts anywhere from 1-3 months for a 60 lb dog. Even with this wide range, the price per month is right on par if not better than chemical treatments.
In addition to EVOLV Natural Flea and Tick Control, Wondercide provides solutions for pet skin care and ear care plus shampoo, supplements, treats, and stain and odor remover. In addition to pets, Wondercide has products for people, lawn care, and home care. All of these can be purchased in Wondercide’s online store or in a store near you.
