Virginia’s winter weather is always a bit odd. We get snow, but it’s usually not more than a few inches. It is almost guaranteed that it will melt within 48 hours and just turn into a bunch of gross slush. However, every time that snow is forecasted it is in fact the end of the world. Based on everyone else’s reactions, if you are not out stocking up on milk, toilet paper, salt, and shovels then you will in fact not survive the 1 inch snowfall. Fortunately, I buy my toilet paper at Costco, so I’m ready for anything!

We did enjoy a bit of snow earlier this week that did actually stick around for longer than normal, so I was able to snap a few really WINTER photos for our 52 Snapshots of Life photo challenge this week. To go with our wintery photos, I have also rounded up some great resources to keep your dog safe and warm this winter.

Finding the perfect winter coat can be a challenge. Luna’s current winter wear includes the Adventure Jacket from Alcott. If you are looking for a Winter Dog Coat, Barks & Swagger has great tips on what to look for and where to find one.

Luna also wears Pawz to keep her paws dry and protected. For more ways to keep dog paws safe during the winter, check out My Brown Newfies’ tips.

I’m a bit of a wuss when it comes to the cold, so most of our outside time is limited to bathroom walks. I do try to engage Luna in activity when we are stuck inside though. Sometimes we just play with toys and run around in our small apartment. Kol’s Notes has more great ideas on indoor dog games.
