So what was Luna enjoying in our Wordless Wednesday post? Most of you had the right idea!

It was peanut butter ice cream!

It was made specifically for dogs by a local dog bakery called Dogma. Oh boy did they make a lot of delicious ice cream too! They even had flavors for the dogs to choose from: peanut butter, carob chip, olive oil bacon, and cheese! Luna would have eaten the whole cooler full if she did not have to share.

Dogma had to make a lot of ice cream because they were at Wags N Whiskers, a community shopping event for pet lovers and pets hosted by the NOVADog Magazine and The Village at Shirlington. There were hundreds of dogs attending and I am pretty sure the ice cream was a hit with all of them!

There is nothing better than refreshing ice cream on a hot day!

Dogma also makes homemade dog treats and sells other pet products. Luna is looking forward to trying her DC Delite!

Dogma was not the only local dog bakery at Wags N Whiskers. We learned about quite a few!

Le Petit Treat was started by Gigi, a French educated chef, who wanted to make healthy and delicious treats for her diabetic furry friend, Ralphie. Le Petit Treats are made with premium ingredients and are gluten-free, low-glycemic and free of common allergens. Currently there are four flavor options: Quiche Lorraine, Creme de Menthe (vegan), Coq Au Vin, and Beef Bourguignon. Luna tested out the Coq Au Vin and the Creme de Menthe. Now she has a little taste for fine French dining!

Barkley Square is a full service pet lovers dream. Barkley Square offers petsitting, grooming, dog walking, and gourmet dog treats! Barkley Square strives to make healthy and all natural pet treats that are still delicious! Luna tried out their apple cinnamon treats and was a huge fan.

We even ran into our friends from Max & Ruffy’s and picked up a new flavor to try!

In addition to all the great dog bakeries, we found an few new pet products too! One of our favorite was a magnetic bowl and mat set from JoJo Couture. This bowl set was an innovative way to stop us humans from kicking and flipping our pets water bowls on accident!

We had so much fun at Wags N Whiskers and so did other many other dogs. We loved seeing all the varities of dogs!
