The thing about Valentine’s Day is that it comes right after you start to get back on track after going a little crazy for the holidays. Trust me, I know how tempting aisles of heart shaped chocolate can be. Fortunately there are some options for Valentine’s Day celebrations that don’t require you eating boxes of chocolates or pounds of dog treats and can help you stay on track with your resolutions (if you still remember them).

Here are a few options I have found.

If you have been reading for a while, you will know that I am a huge fan of The Honest Kitchen’s Quickies.

These tiny heart shaped treats are only 1.1 calories each! They have a pretty strong smell, but your dog will LOVE it.

Right now Quickies even feature a festive Valentine’s Day themed tube!

Petco also knows that wonderful gifts don’t have to be edible. They have a whole line of adorable Valentine’s stuffed toys.

She also learned to appreciate her vegetables. Luna sure loved her broccoli and although stuffed toy onions are tons of fun to play with, real ones should not be fed to dogs. Luna highly recommends squash instead!

What is another gift idea that isn’t covered in chocolate? One that helps with your pet’s safety!

Or even better, one that helps you find your dog during a power outage.

I picked up two Kwik Bike Lights from the Target One Spot. As soon as I saw them, I knew they would work perfectly with a dog collar.

You can attach them as you one to a bike or just thread your dog’s collar through the loop.

With a coupon on Cartwheel, each light was only $0.80 ($1 regular price). Plus one is Valentine’s Day red. So check out your local Target’s One Spot.
