We are happy to finally be home!
Luna thinks about what she should unpack and eat first!
We did it! We finally moved out of the townhouse that has been causing us so much stress for the past month. Despite last Friday being a blazing 95 degree day with plenty of Northern Virginia humidity, we were able to completely empty the non air conditioned townhouse and split our belongings between our new fourth floor walk up apartment and a storage unit.
We could not have done it without the help of four really awesome guys from My Guys Moving and Storage. I have never had professional movers before and I am a little territorial when it comes to my stuff, so I was concerned. But, moving everything up four flights of stairs on my own on a record heat day really was not an option.
I was so impressed by their work that I just have to rave about them a little. These men were polite, kind, and even fun to work with. They treated me and my belongings with respect despite working a long day in the heat. Although hiring professional movers is expensive, I do not regret the decision at all especially because we were able to complete everything in one day. I would absolutely work with My Guys again, but hopefully we will not be moving for a while!
You may be thinking: FOURTH FLOOR WALK UP?! I am with you, but Luna LOVES it. All I can think about is how fun it is going to be to bring groceries up. Luna on the other hand is thrilled that burning extra calories means even more snacks …or so she thinks. She is so set on making this place our new home that she has already unpacked her box (and maybe eaten half of it). She is also a HUGE help a newspaper shredding as long as you do not mind them a little soggy. Her rent is $40 a month, so she is hiring her services out to make a living. Let us know if you are interested.
Although Luna lost the ability to look out the storm door when we left the townhouse, she can now gaze out windows that are higher than the trees! She can watch all the people, dogs, and wildlife while feeling on top of the world. If you are ever in the Fairfax, Virginia area and happen to hear a Beagle howl from four floors up, it might just be Luna saying hello.
Luna knows her favorite treats are somewhere in this box!
