Yesterday we talked about reflective dog wear and I mentioned Alcott. After meeting them at the Global Pet Expo, I jumped at the chance to review a few of their other products in addition to the leashes and collars.
While in Florida, there was a certain product that caught my eye – A Dog Sleeping Bag! Yes, that is right. It is such a novel idea and I have never seen another one.
Despite being thoroughly amused by the idea of a sleeping bag for dogs, I was a bit interested to see if Luna would appreciate or even cooperate enough to go inside.

Luna hasn’t quite got the hang of getting in the bag herself. Think about how you get into sleeping bags as a human. If you really think about it then you’ll know that it isn’t as easy as it sounds.

Luna enjoys her Alcott Sleeping Bag
She does thoroughly enjoy being snuggled inside. There were no complaints at all.
We haven’t taken our sleeping bag camping yet, but we do occasionally put Luna inside while sitting on the couch. She would sit for hours if I didn’t get up and distract her by going into the kitchen. When something exciting does happen she can just jump out of the sleeping bag and go after it.

Luna watches TV in her Alcott Sleeping Bag
Alcott offers the sleeping bag in three different sizes: S ($29.99), M ($34.99), and L ($39.99). Luna is using the Medium and I think it fits really well. It is snug, but big enough she can curl up or move around if she wants.
The sleeping bag itself is high quality and comfortable. The top and bottom actually completely separate with a zipper, so you can also use it as a blanket or pad. The sleeping bag comes rolled up in a little travel bag. Although it isn’t too bulky to begin with.

Luna relaxes in her Alcott Sleeping Bag
While the sleeping bag is a bit of an investment ($29.99-$39.99), I think it is a wonderful product. It would be perfect for any dogs who love adventure, especially camping. I think it would also be a great gift for a dog lover (or yourself). You have no idea how cute a dog is in a sleeping bag until you see it first hand, so all your dog lover friends would definitely love this.
In addition to the collars, leashes, and sleeping bags, Alcott has a lot more to offer in their product line. You can shop Alcott’s online store in two different ways: by category or adventure. Different adventures include Storybook, Essentials, Explorer, Traveler, and Mariner. This way you can find water gear quick and easy, but also can view all collars just as fast.

Luna enjoys the protection from her Alcott Car Safety Belt
The different lines at Alcott help turn regular activities into adventures. We also tried out the Alcott’s car safety belt, which is wonderful to travel with. It helps keep Luna safe in the car, especially when we forget or can’t bring along her booster seat. It is so compact that you can take it anywhere. One end just slips into the seat belt buckle and the other end clips onto your dog’s harness (not collar!)
The seat belt buckle is also reflective too. You know how we like reflective things.
In addition to Alcott’s online store, you can also find a store near you that carries Alcott.
You can also enter to win a $25 gift certificate to Alcott’s online store. The winner will be able to pick out $25 worth of Alcott products!
USA residents are eligible to enter and must do so with the Rafflecopter below by 11:59 PM EST on 5/3/14.
