I grew up on country music and while many of my favorite songs and artists come out of the 1990s, there are a few modern day country superstars I love to follow. One of those is Miranda Lambert.

Maybe it’s her rise to fame from humble beginnings. Maybe it’s her bad-ass attitude and empowering image of a strong woman. Maybe it’s that we share a weird addiction of Cheetos. Or maybe it’s her love for animals and the work she has done for animal rescue.

Either way, I was absolutely ecstatic to learn that she was partnering with the major pet supplies manufacturer, Petmate, to launch a line of dog supplies and accessories that will support her MuttNation Foundation.

Miranda Lambert's MuttNation Foundation aims to end animal cruelty, neglect, and homelessness

According to its website, the MuttNation Foundation is a donation-supported 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2009 by Miranda Lambert and her mother Bev Lambert with the mission to end animal cruelty, neglect, and homelessness.

The MuttNation Foundation is able to provide animal aid throughout the USA including:

  • Spay and neuter campaigns
  • Medical treatments
  • Adoption events, pet transportation, and pet ownership education
  • Mill rescues
  • Legislative changes
  • Service dog training and placement
  • Food and supplies for animal shelters

Additionally, the organization hosts larger iniatives to improve animal welfare including:

  • Mutts Across America: 50 States/50 Shelters – An annual program which provides funds and support to animal shelters in every US state.
  • Redemption Ranch – A new low-kill shelter located in Tishomingo, OK.
  • Cause for the Paws – An annual fundraising event which has raised over $1.5 million and is in its 9th year.
  • Partnerships with North Shore Animal League and Red Star Emergency Relief

The MuttNation collection is an extension of me and my mom’s love for all dogs and our goal of helping every dog find a happy, loving home. There are millions of beautiful dogs looking for homes and it is our hope that in addition to raising money, we will raise awareness to the joy of adopting a shelter pet. – Miranda Lambert

MuttNation Collection is fueled by Miranda Lambert

The MuttNation collection was officially launched on August 23. It features a country-chic feel with rock & roll flair, vintage prints, and antique hardware. All of the items are inspired by Miranda’s signature style. Each purchase also helps fund the rescue efforts and adoption programs of the MuttNation Foundation.

According to Miranda, one of the goals of the MuttNation product line was to raise awareness about the joy of adopting a shelter pet. The full line of products includes beds, collars, leashes, toys, apparel, and bowls.

Luna is loving the Dig N’ Burrow feature in the MuttNation Lambswool Tooled Leather Printed Lounger

Luna and Ralph have been enjoying the MuttNation Lambswool Tooled Leather Printed Lounger. Though we already have numerous dog beds in our apartment, it’s the only one that is big enough for the two of them to snuggle together. This bed also features Petmate’s unique Dig N’ Burrow feature, which allows them to den and nest at bed time. I’m a big fan of the beautiful brown paisley pattern and the dogs both seem to like the lambswool.

I also fell in love with the MuttNation Faux Suede Armadillo. The faux suede provides a durable toy for dogs that tend to be a bit more destructive with their toys. And where else would you be able to find an armadillo dog toy?! If armadillos aren’t your thing, your dog can also pick from a Rooster, Flamingo, or Unicorn.

The MuttNation Collection also includes a super cute Suede Tambourine Toy. I might have to pick one of these up for a future Christmas gift!

Probably my favorite part of the MuttNation product line is its inclusion of Rescue Mutts – a collection of six plush dog toys that are each based on real-life rescue dogs.

While I’m tempted to get one of each of the Rescue Mutt toys, we ultimately choose Ollie, a pit bull boxer mix with bright blue eyes, who was lost and hungry until he found his forever home.

This collection features five other dogs Roscoe, Roxy, Bella, Maggie and Miranda’s first rescue dog, Delilah. Miranda found Delilah while volunteering at the Humane Society of East Texas. She is very close to Miranda’s heart and helped her become an animal advocate.
