If Planet Dog were a real planet, we would all buy a one way ticket there, right?
While it may not actually be an entirely new planet, Planet Dog does make some super fun and durable dog toys.
Before my trip to Orlando for the Global Pet Expo, I found out that Planet Dog would be there. I was eager to learn about all the toys they have to offer and was even more thrilled for Luna to get the opportunity to try out a few Planet Dog toys.
Luna and I were first exposed to Planet Dog when she got the Orbee-Tuff Orbee Ball in her Hero Dog Box a few months ago.
The Orbee Ball spiked my interest immediately because it held up to Luna’s jaws of steel and it smelled minty. Yes, that’s right minty!
Many of Planet Dog’s Orbee-Tuff toys have a slight mint flavor. It’s not overbearing at all. It isn’t flavored with cheese or bacon which would make your dog want to actually eat their toy. It smells fresh and helps keep your pup’s breath fresh too.
The Orbee-Tuff Cosmos have this feature too. AND one of them was named after Luna.
Okay not really, but they do have a Luna ball (4″) which GLOWS IN THE DARK along with Sol (5″) and Ringo (3″). Just like the Orbee Ball, the Cosmos each have a treat spot for hiding the good stuff.
Orbee-Tuff toys can also bounce and float.
But wait. I said durable, right? Yes! Planet Dog has developed a durability scale where they rate all their toys designed for chewing.
The Cosmos balls are all rated 5 out of 5. Because Luna is an avid chewer, we picked toys that were rated high on the scale, but there are toys for less aggressive chewers too.
These toys are a little bit of an investment at $12.95 – $17.95 depending on size, but their durability and 100% guarantee makes it worth the splurge.
Planet Dog also makes interactive toys. Luna has been trying out Planet Dog’s Orbee-Tuff Snoop. Getting the treats out of this new toy was quite a challenge for her at first. While it did get easier, it still takes her a few minutes every time.
The Snoop can be a challenge to describe, so Luna and I made a video to show it off.
Because the Snoop isn’t designed for chewing, it is not rated on Planet Dog’s durability scale. While the Snoop does hold up pretty well, it should really only be used when you can keep an eye on your pup as they work the treats free.
The Snoop is available in both Blue (shown) and Orange and costs $17.95. As with the other Orbee-Tuff toys, the Snoop is 100% guaranteed and made in the USA.
For interactive toys, we will need treats! Planet Dog has that covered too with two flavor varieties: Chicken & Pumpkin Pot Pie and PB & J. Luna tried Chicken & Pumpkin Pot Pie and absolutely approved!
Both varieties have 6 ingredients or less and are made in the USA. A 12 oz box sells for $9.95.
And to top everything I’ve already mentioned, 2% of every Planet Dog purchase goes to the Planet Dog Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that helps build and promote programs that allow people and dogs to work together.
But it doesn’t stop there. Planet Dog donates 100% of the profits of both the Orbee-Tuff 2.5″ and 3″ Glow for Good Ball to the Planet Dog Foundation, which cost $11.95 and $12.95 respectively.
The Glow for Good Balls glow in the dark just like the Luna Cosmos ball.
The 2.5″ Glow for Good Ball can also add increased challenge to the Snoop when you insert it inside. This is true for any 2.5″ Orbee-Tuff Ball!
Planet Dog is offering a Snoop, box of treats, and Glow for Good Ball to one Beagles and Bargains reader.
