You may have noticed that there is a big trend of seeking out pet products that are made in the USA. With the recent recall history, I’m extremely cautious when buying any edibles for Luna that aren’t made right here at home. I’m less stringent about non food items, but I think that while this trend is helping to keep our pets safe, it is also causing us to overlook some great non-American pet product companies.
Back in March while I was at the Global Pet Expo, I was exposed to some of these companies at the event’s International Pavilion. The company that stood out the most to me at that event was KRUUSE, which is a family owned Danish company that has been around since 1896.
KRUUSE is primarily a supplier of veterinary equipment, so they often deal directly with veterinarian offices or distributors. However, KRUUSE also has a line of home pet products under their BUSTER brand.
After the Global Pet Expo, KRUUSE sent Luna a wide range of BUSTER products to try out and they did not disappoint one bit!
B’Seen 360
This little gadget can be easily attached to a dog’s collar or lead for help with visibility at night. It is small and light weight, so your pup won’t even notice it. The 360 degrees LED light can be seen from afar and will help provide a bit of extra safety on late night walks. There is no need to be gentle with it since it is water and shock proof. The B’Seen 360 comes in 12 different colors and is available on Amazon for $9.99.
We’ve used ours during camping and on late night walks. It is also great for evening bike rides! You can see Luna’s orange B’Seen 360 in the photo below.
BUSTER Incredibowl
The Incredibowl is a dishwasher safe bowl that is designed to keep long, floppy ears out. I’m lucky that Luna’s long ears don’t absorb too much water when they find their way into the water bowl. But, Cousin Keto is notorious for storing water in his beard and on long ears, which he then successfully distributes throughout the house. This bowl aims to help prevent that and also helps keep your dog’s ears from getting covered in food remnants. As an added bonus, the conical shape of the BUSTER Incredibowl also slows down your dog’s speed eating, so it is great for long eared food hounds!
The bowl has an anti slip bottom and is available in four colors (lime green, navy blue, dark gray, or magenta) and two sizes (34 oz or 68 oz). It is available on Amazon for $14.99 for the small or $24.99 for the large
BUSTER Dog Maze
Another fun way to slow your dog’s eating down is the BUSTER Dog Maze. This meal time toy has curved tracks for kibble or treats. The special shape requires your dog to carefully move each piece of food through the maze, slowing them down drastically. The maze also provides plenty of mental stimulation, so it is a great option for bored dogs or during cold winter months.
The Dog Maze is dishwasher safe and available in two sizes (Mini or Large) and five colors (black, gray, light blue, lime green, or pink). You can get your own BUSTER Dog Maze on Amazon for $19.98 for the Mini or $29.99 for the Large.
BUSTER ActivityMat
If you want to give your dog even more mental stimulation that the Dog Maze and really provide a challenge, the BUSTER ActivityMat may be a perfect choice! The starter kit comes with a basic mat, three activities, and a carrying case. Numerous other activities are available for purchase separately. The mat features studs placed 10 cm apart, which allow you to snap the activities into place. This allows you to constantly mix things up by rearranging the activities and adding different ones. This way your dog will never figure them all out, so you won’t have to trade it for something different only a little while later. The activities are split into three different levels of difficulties and each have a pocket to hide a treat or piece of kibble.
Luna had a blast finding the different snacks, but it definitely was a challenge for her! I enjoyed working with her to solve the puzzles. It was a great positive reinforcement exercise! The only downside of the ActivityMat is that since there are metal pieces and so many moving parts, it might not be the best choice for a very destructive dog and I wouldn’t recommend using it when there is no supervision. The starter kit is available for $69.99.
