Goodness gracious. It is already February 3rd and it recently occurred to me (and maybe you too) that I only successfully posted one blog post in all of January 2016. As much as I hate to admit it I took a bit of an unexpected hiatus last month.
I wish I could say I spent that time doing something really amazing or starting a new successful venture, but the truth is that I found the couch and never left. How could I? I had a warm snuggly dog right next to me.
Spending a month on the couch was great for my TV watching, but not so great for my blog or waistline.
So here’s to February.
The month of love, football, presidents, groundhogs, pet dental health, and so much more.
It’s a new month and I’m so ready for it. I promise that I will post more than once. I really mean it, so you can hold to me to that. (Please do.)
Right now I’m working on a few different Valentine’s Day crafts to help you celebrate your undying love and affection with your pups. In the meantime, be sure to check out my previous Valentine’s Day posts:

And don’t forget to send all your dog loving Valentines an e-card. Don’t worry, you don’t have to go and find the perfect one because we’ve already got that figured out – Printable Valentine’s Day Cards for Dogs and Dog Lovers
I just got back from a trip to the dentist and February is National Pet Dental Health Month, so we’ll definitely be talking about teeth! I’ll be sharing some of our go to products like VetriScience’s Perio Support and what I currently do to keep Luna’s chompers sparkling.
On top of all of that, we’ll be kicking off a two month long series of “What Luna Does During the Day” where I’ll be stalking Luna while I’m at work to see what mischief she gets into. Each post will feature a giveaway of a Vimtag Indoor Camera, so you can spy on your dog too!
Even when February ends, the fun won’t stop. I’ll be headed to the Global Pet Expo again in mid-March and will report back on the newest and greatest products available in the pet industry.
We’ll also be launching a week long celebration for Beagles & Bargains 3rd Blogiversary and Luna’s 4th Birthday in March. Time sure does fly!
April will bring the A to Z Challenge, where I will try to successfully post 26 times (one for each letter of the alphabet) in one month. I’ve already completed the challenge twice in 2014 and 2015!
I haven’t quite figured out May yet, but in June you can find me speaking at the BlogPaws Conference in Phoenix, Arizona! It will be my first speaking engagement and I’m really excited to share some tips on the technical side of blogging.
Now that I’ve told you where we are going this year, I bet you are still wondering where we have been (other than my couch, of course) and what we have been up to.
In January, we survived the Blizzard of 2016 also known as Winter Storm Jonas, which dropped over 2.5 feet of snow on the Northern Virginia and Washington D.C. area in less than 48 hours. Now I know some of you regularly see that much snow or more, but let me tell you when a place with the WORST traffic in the USA gets that much snow, things just stop.
And people stock up and go crazy. Just take a look at what Trader Joe’s in Reston, VA looked like a few days BEFORE the storm.
To make things even more fun, we picked up our first foster dog ever, Ralph, right before the snow. You may have met him on our Facebook or Instagram pages already and know that he has an incredible story of where he came from. But more on that later. 🙂
What are you looking forward to this month?
