More of what we loved at BlogPaws:
Pet Health
I loved learning about new (or new to me) products that help you keep your pet healthy.
OraStrip: What do you do to keep your dog’s smile shining bright? Along with daily brushing, chewing treats, and other helpful dental products, OraStrip can help you catch a problem before it gets too bad. OraStrip helps veterinarians diagnose periodontal disease in pups long before the visual test can. By the time periodontal disease is noticeable in the visual test, it may have affected other parts of the body by entering the blood stream. OraStrip helps prevent this by giving a warning sooner, so those pups can get any necessary treatment before matters get worse. OraStrip should be administered by a veterinarian, so we are bringing our sample to Luna’s veterinarian to get her tested.
Vetericyn: On the first day of BlogPaws, Luna and I were fortunate enough to run into Danielle from Innovacyn, the parent company of Vetericyn. Vetericyn is a wound care product for animals. Even though Innovacyn did not have a booth at BlogPaws, they were a sponsor and provided a sample in the swag bag. It was great to talk to Danielle about Vetericyn and to learn about how it can be used for rashes, burns, hot spots, cuts, and more. Fortunately, Luna has not had a use for Vetericyn yet, but I am glad we have a sample to take with us on hikes and other adventures. A sample of Vetericyn Wound and Skin Care will be in one of the Giveaway packages too!
Toys
PetSafe: Luna and I have been fans of PetSafe for a long time without really knowing it. When we were still facing major separation anxiety issues, I searched for some toys that would keep Luna entertained while I was away at work. One day when I was shopping at Ross, I found a Tug-A-Jug and thought it was a great idea, so I bought it! Luna loved her Tug-A-Jug and it worked great at keeping her entertained while using up a little of her energy. While at BlogPaws, I learned about the Lickety Stik, a lickable and healthy treat for dogs! At first Luna was not sure what to do with the the Lickety Stik, but once the delicious chicken flavor started coming out she could not stop licking! Her cousin Keto, the Labradoodle, reacted the same. Both Giveaway packages have Lickety Stiks and one will have a Busy Buddy Ultra Sub with refills!Cleaning
Evercare Lint: At BlogPaws, Evercare Lint introduced me to the biggest lint roller I have ever seen! Evercare Lint has a Mega Roller which is useful for couches, flooring, and even your car. If you are like me and have pesky pet hair everywhere, then you know this would be useful. As large as the lint roller is, it is lighter and easier to use than a handheld vacuum too! Evercare Lint also has a cool product called FurErase. It combines a brush with the typical lint roller to get more pet hair. Although Luna and I do not have a sample of this product, I will be looking to get one soon!Pet Tech
As a Software Engineer, I love any technology I can use with Luna. At BlogPaws, I learned about a pet tracker and camera!
Tagg: Knowing where your dog is if they escape from a fence or other restraint is a major concern among pet parents. Tagg tracker answers this with a collar attachment that uses GPS tracking to alert pet parents when their dog or cat moves outside their usual area. This area can be set using Tagg’s software and alerts can be sent via text message and email. Tagg allows pet parents to pinpoint their pet’s location so they can come home safely by using Verizon’s Wireless Network. Tagg also offers activity tracking, which can help monitor how much activity your dog gets during the day. I have a Fitbit and thought it looked very similar, except it was specifically designed with pets in mind! Tagg retails for $99, so I will be saving up to get Luna a new gadget!
Sony Action Cam: The Sony Action Cam is a point of view camera that can be attached to multiple different mounts. Sony announced the Pet Mount at BlogPaws last week and Luna was able to try it out! Watch Video from a Dog’s Eye View, if you have not already seen Luna’s video. The Action Cam also comes with a waterproof case, which is great for dogs! Having a camera that can record what Luna sees is so valuable and creative, which is why I hope to save up so we can get one soon.
