We have kind of been off the fitness map for a while. Between the overwhelming amount of BlogPaws excitement that occurred almost a month ago and my impending move next week, I have spent more time collecting pet products, sending emails, tweeting, and cramming stuff into boxes than I have spent outside. So when my friends from Kol’s Notes challenged us to go K9 Kamping, I was thrilled and determined to get at least a little more activity.
Although we did not go hiking or visit any new places this week, Luna and I did spend a lot more time outside in the sunshine working on our tans (and activity goals).
We currently live in an apartment with no backyard, but it does have a lot of green space all around. Since a Beagle nose does what a Beagle nose does, Luna is pretty much always kept on her leash when we are outside. This week I let Luna enjoy a little bit more freedom by using her 20 foot leash. She was able to run and sniff in a much larger circle than normal and (almost) feel the wind in her ears.
The longer leash let us both run around and play… or at least try to.
We played fetch.
We played frisbee.
We even rolled around in the grass.
Does your dog like to play fetch?
I wonder what K9 Kamp will have in store for us next week. Perhaps box hurdles?
Beagles and Bargains is happy to be participating in K9 Kamp hosted by Peggy’s Pet Place and Kol’s Notes and the FitDog Friday Blog Hop also hosted by Peggy’s Pet Place with SlimDoggy.
