When I first adopted Luna, I had no idea what kind of dog food to buy. I sought advice from the rescue and their advice really stuck with me.

It sounds simple, but sometimes it is hard to know what exactly is the best in your price range. Fortunately, there are a few tools like Dog Food Advisor and SlimDoggy’s Dog Food Database that can help.
Merrick Pet Care makes both dry and wet dog food that gets high ranks from both of these sources.
It wasn’t until my trip to the Global Pet Expo when I first learned about Merrick. This was when I was first exposed to Merrick’s food line called Whole Earth Farms, which Luna has been trying out for the past month courtesy of Merrick.

The value comes from great, affordable pricing. A 30 lb bag is less than $40. 5 and 15 lb bags are also available if you don’t want to carry 30 lbs up four flights of stairs like I did. Oh the things I do for puppy love.
Luna has been enjoying Whole Earth Farms Grain Free Recipe with Chicken and Turkey in both the kibble and wet canned food. Grain free dog food sometimes is a bit more expensive than others, so the value is even greater for these recipes.
Merrick’s Whole Earth Farms comes in three other dry dog food flavors: Adult (Chicken, Turkey, and Whitefish), Puppy (Chicken and Salmon), and for the dog’s with chicken allergies – Grain Free Lamb.
Whole Earth Farms dry dog food is good enough for Luna to try to quickly vacuum up any I might spill on the floor. But, the canned food will cause her to go through her entire trick routine and then some just for a taste.
Although Luna has also been trying the canned Grain Free Chicken and Turkey Recipe, there are six other flavors too: Grain Free Hearty Beef Stew, Grain Free Red Meat Recipe, Grain Free Hearty Chicken Stew, Grain Free Adult Recipe, Grain Free Puppy Recipe, and Grain Free Hearty Turkey Stew.
