Yesterday I posted about our recent shopping spree. One of my purchases was the JW Hol-ee Roller. I mentioned that it was more of a toy for me than for Luna. This is because I bought it with a thrifty activity in mind.

Luna is an expert fluff (AKA toy guts) remover. No toy can stand a chance. She is also very food motivated. She will do anything for a snack.

That is why I turned the Roller Ball into a destuffable, food dispensing toy.

What does that mean?

It means Luna gets to rip out stuffing over and over again while finding delicious treats and it is reusable!

Supplies need for thrifty JW Hol-ee Roller Ball

To make your own, all you need is three things:
1 JW Hol-ee Roller Ball size appropriate for your dog
Plenty of scraps of fabric cut into strips – I used old socks, but you could use old t-shirts or any strips of fabric
A handful of small treats

Layer socks and treats in JW Hol-ee Roller Ball

Once you have gathered the supplies, stuff the strips of fabric into the Roller Ball while layering with the treats.

A Stuffed JW Hol-ee Roller Ball

Luna loves ripping out the old socks and finding the treats. It usually takes her a few minutes to find all of them, but the difficulty can be increased or decreased depending on how many treats and pieces of fabric are stuffed into the ball.

Be warned: your house might be suddenly covered in old socks.

Are your dogs expert fluff removers too?
