This weekend was hot, hot, hot, so I was thrilled that our new Drinkwell Outdoor Dog Fountain had arrived in the mail earlier last week. Luna has already been staying hydrated with her new Drinkwell Avalon Fountain for about a month now, so I knew that Cousin Keto and Freckles could use a fountain too.
PetSafe was nice enough to send us another fountain for Keto and Freckles to use during hot summer days. The Outdoor Dog Fountain is made with special UV-resistant plastic to keep the water cool even when the temperature is not. The fountain is HUGE and holds 3.5 gallons of water, so it is great for larger dogs, multiple pets, or both!
On Saturday, Luna and I went to visit my parents, so we brought the fountain along to set up on their deck. It was pretty easy and painless to set up. Cousin Keto was drinking fresh water in about 10 minutes!
I think Keto is a big fan of his new fountain. He approached it without any caution and filled up on water right away. Then he kept going back for more! He was so funny to watch. After the first time, he would only take one sip at a time, go run or walk around for a minute, and then come back for another sip! Even Luna likes it too!
I also picked this outdoor fountain with my parents’ cat, Freckles, in mind too. She is a combination indoor/outdoor cat, so it’s important to keep her hydrated while she is outside sunbathing on the deck. The jury is still out on whether or not she likes the fountain too because stealthy, but I bet she does!
