Cinco de Mayo is an annual celebration that commemorates the Mexican army’s unlikely win in the Battle of Puebla and to honor Mexican heritage and pride in other countries such as the United States. In a similar spirit, GoodDogz.org is celebrating pets and pet adoption with the Pet Fiesta. GoodDogz.org has held a Pet Fiesta since 2003. Last year the event brought over 10,000 visitors and 120 exhibitors.
This year’s Pet Fiesta will take place on Saturday, May 4 (just before Cinco de Mayo — or the 5th of May) in the Reston Town Center in Reston, Virginia. The event will kick off at 10AM with the Tails on Trails Dog Walk.
The Tails on Trails Dog Walk raises money for homeless dogs looking for loving and permanent homes. The scenic walk travels around the Reston Town Center and along the W&OD Trail. The walk will happen rain or shine and is a great way to get yourself and your dog a little exercise. Register for the Tails on Trails Dog Walk for $20 for the first dog and $5 for each additional dog.

GoodDogz.org’s Pet Fiesta will unite local businesses, animal rescues, and pet owners in the Reston Town Center, a pet friendly outdoor shopping center. There will be demonstrations and activities for both current pet owners and those looking for a new best friend to enjoy.
Come to the Pet Fiesta to learn about the latest in pet products from local businesses and to enjoy onstage entertainment, face painting, and caricatures.
If you are looking to add a new member to your family, there will be many amazing animals from great rescue groups looking their forever homes. Take a look a what rescue groups will be at the Pet Fiesta.

Is your dog super talented, well dressed, or the fastest eater you’ve ever seen? You may also want to think about entering him or her in these fun pet contests. Entry costs $10 and benefits GoodDogz.org and dogs looking for homes.
