On a hot summer day nothing can beat a bit of cold ice cream to help cool you down. Even all the dogs agree! Luckily for all of us National Ice Cream Day is just around the corner on Sunday, July 19, 2015. To celebrate this wonderful holiday, PetSmart is hosting a fun ice cream social event at all their PetsHotel locations.
From noon to 4 PM, FREE dog safe ice cream will be given away to all visiting pups who stop by a PetsHotel location. You can find your closest PetsHotel location by searching for your zip code on PetSmart’s website. Make sure “PetsHotel” is checked!
PetSmart’s PetsHotels offer overnight boarding and Doggie Day Camp. The pet safe ice cream is a special service, which you can add on to your dog’s stay for an extra special experience. It’s only an extra $4-5!
We stopped by our local PetSmart location in Tyson’s Corner, Virginia where we were able to see the PetsHotel facilities and meet our new friends Mike, Christine, and Cheyenne who work at the PetsHotel! Chef Mike crafted Luna a gourmet ice cream sundae, which she very thoroughly enjoyed! After she finished devouring the first one, she was left asking for more, more, MORE!
The Doggie Ice Cream is human grade, lactose-free, and comes in a few different delicious flavors including Vanilla, Strawberry, Pumpkin Spice, and Peanut Butter. The flavors rotate and some specials come up seasonally. Luna enjoyed the Apple Pie, but I bet she wishes she could have tried them all.

Since we were already at PetSmart, Luna even got to pick out a few new toys. Of course, she picked out the biggest and silliest ones she could find!
