Snoopy is one Beagle who knows all about wild adventures and clever disguises. I bet a day spent with Snoopy would be a crazy ride and that’s why, to celebrate Snoopy’s birthday on August 10, Luna and I are jumping on board Snoopy Railroad. Who knows where this train will take us!

Lionel designs toy trains and model railroad sets, many of which have fun themes like Frosty the Snowman, Harry Potter, and John Deere. When I found out that Lionel was producing not one, not two, but THREE Snoopy themed model railroads, the Beagle fan girl in me screamed and then promptly fainted.

When I woke up, I was inside a circle of train tracks with Snoopy’s train chugging away and Luna following closely behind because it was carrying some delicious cargo.

Okay it wasn’t quite that seamless since I had to hunt down some C-batteries first (which I ended up just ordering from Amazon), but I was happy to put the Snoopy Railways G-Gauge Train Set from Lionel to the test!

The set comes complete with a four car train, a remote control, and 12 curved and 4 straight pieces of G-Gauge track. The train needs 6 C-batteries and the remote needs 2 AA batteries, which are not included.

Using the remote, the Snoopy Railways train can move both forwards and in reverse at a variety of different speeds. The train’s engine sounds as it moves around the track and you can also trigger a whistle or bell from the remote control.

One of the train’s cars is a boxcar with doors that can open and close. If you are a bit of a mischievous dog parent, you might find it entertaining to put a few yummy treats inside and pretend Dogzilla is attacking the little town of Snoopyville. Just be sure not to leave Dogzilla unattended.

The Snoopy Railways Train has me anticipating Christmas for sure. I cannot wait to have a Snoopy Railroad built around our Christmas tree! And, you bet I’ll be breaking it out to celebrate the new Peanuts movie coming in November.
