This month Luna and I are taking on a big challenge. We are tasked with blogging everyday (except Sundays) for the WHOLE MONTH of April and each day will be assigned a letter from A-Z, alphabetically of course.
Although Luna’s paws don’t do the typing, she does have to model for each and every post and modeling for treats is a tough job. To show Luna just how much I appreciate her, today’s post is all about accepting her for her.
I adopted Luna in October 2013 and never really knew much about her history. The rescue who was fostering Luna, only had her for a few days after she had been found roaming on the side of the road.
Recently some new information has resurfaced about her history and I was shocked to find it out. A farmer stepped forward claiming to recognize Luna from a clowder of cats (yes, that is what it is called. Clowder.) that used to live in one of his old barns. Oh I’m sorry, were you distracted by the word ‘clowder’? Yes, I said cats.
Apparently Luna was just one of the cats. She learned to hunt with them, which is part of the reason she was able to survive.
The farmer always thought it was a bit strange, but the cats and Luna were very protective of one another and they seemed to be doing alright. He would occasionally leave them some table scraps and other edibles, especially in the winter.
Because Luna was so close to her cat family, she picked up a few characteristics that might be unusual to the average dog.
Love of yarn. Don’t you dare try to knit around her.

Desire to hide and fit into the tiniest spaces. Just try to find her.
Luna hides under beds and other tight spaces.
Tendency to always be on the prowl. Watch out.

Requirement to sit high and mighty. She is a princess after all.

Despite all her cat tendencies, I wouldn’t change a thing about her. She is special just the way she is. So accepting her for her is why…
