Mother's Day Gift Guide for Dog Moms 2016

1. Breed Specific Jewelry from Bark Beads $$$
I was so impressed by these breed specific beads when I first came across them. Not only is each one super detailed, but they have almost any breed you can imagine including some popular mixed breeds as well! And the beagle actually looks like a beagle! (You’d be surprised how many people don’t get it right). You can choose from necklace charms, earrings, and even Pandora compatible charms. These are a bit pricey at about $75 a pop, but the quality is there and I think they might be adding a more affordable option soon!

2. Notepads and Stationary from Hooray for the Underdog! $
Hooray for the Underdog! makes greeting cards and stationary that benefit animal rescue. They donate 5% of every sale to animal welfare charities. Each card, notepad, and journal features a beautiful photo of a rescue animal with an incredible story. Any animal lover would appreciate a card or notepad from here and they are super affordable as everything is $13 or below!

3. Printed Dog Scarf from AliExpress $
I love showing off my love for dogs and other animals through my jewelry and clothing, so much so that I was even called out for bringing TWO dog shirts up to NYC for just the weekend. The thing I don’t have in my collection is a dog themed scarf and I would love one! They are a super easy way to add a little splash of dog love to an outfit and at the price point of $7 these make perfect gifts!

4. DIY Pet Perennials Kit from Pet Perennials (affiliate link) $$
Pet Perennials is a memorial product that allows you to incorporate the cremated remains of your pet into new life in the form of beautiful flowers that come back year after year. So you might be thinking “A memorial product?! Why would I give this as a gift for Mother’s Day?Two reasons – 1. Dog moms know how much our pups mean to us and so if you do have a dog mom in your life that has suffered a lost recently, then this might help with the healing process. 2. And, it doesn’t have to be! You can also plant a garden or flower bed in honor of your dog (or cat or gerbil) to celebrate their life. Perhaps on their birthday or gotcha day? Pet Perennials makes it so easy to see beautiful flowers that it is great for both advanced gardeners and newbies.

5. Pet House Candles from One Fur All $
Soy candles are better alternatives to traditional candles because they burner cleaner with fewer toxins and pollutants. They also last longer because they burn at a cooler temperature. My favorite soy candles definitely have to be those from One Fur All. The Pet House Candles feature delicious scents like Lavender Green Tea, Pina Colada, and Lilac Garden. They are pretty to look at, but you don’t have to pay the fancy prices as each candle is only $19.95.

6. a-DOG-able Flowers from 1-800-Flowers (affiliate link) $$$
I’ve wanted one of these arrangements for so long. How they manage to get flowers to look like a little white pup, I can’t figure out. These are adorable and there’s one for every occasion! My favorites are the Playful Pup in the watering can and the a-DOG-able in a Basket!

7. Dog Mom Tote Bag from Dog is Good (affiliate link) $$
These tote bags are the best. They are quality made and super cute! This pattern literally screams dog mom and is perfect to throw all your dog’s “stuff” in a bag whenever you go on a day trip. It’s on sale this week, but is only $29.99 normally. Save an extra 10% off with promo code DIGBB10 through 5/31/16.

8. Custom Creative Caddy from Thirty One $$
I don’t pack light and when I have two dog I pack even more! I’m constantly looking for ways to make carrying all my stuff a lot easier. Thirty One’s Creative Caddy is just that for the times I do a bit of training outside. It allows me to easily bring along a few different training treat options, water, a bowl, my cell phone, poop bags, and anything else I need. It’s also completely customizable. You can pick the pattern and personalize it with embroidery like “Dog Mom” or even a paw print!

9. Charity Pot Hand & Body Lotion from Lush $
You may already be aware that Lush makes luxury cosmetics that are held to a high standard and are never tested on animals. They are made with only ethically sourced and vegetarian ingredients. Their Charity Pot Body Lotion is made just like everything else, but 100% of the price (minus tax) is donated to small, grassroots organizations many of which help animal welfare! You can try it for $6.95 or buy a bigger size for $25.95.

10. Dog Themed T-Shirts from I Heart Dogs $
Remember how I said I have a habit of wearing my love for dogs on my t-shirts? Well I also love to wear how I feel about wine. These t-shirts from I Heart Dogs are witty, funny, and available in multiple colors. The best part is that the purchase of each shirt also donates funds to feed 7 shelter dogs through GreaterGood.org and Rescue Bank. At only $12 each, they are definitely a bargain!

11. BOBS for Dogs from Sketchers $$$
HOW CUTE ARE THESE SHOES?! Look at all those adorable pups wearing glasses. I’ve never had a pair of BOBS, but this might make me take the leap and buy a pair. Unless you think Luna might buy me a pair… A girl can dream, right? As cute as those little dogs are, the best part is that each shoe purchase benefits the Best Friends Animal Society! PS – They have a few more patterns if dogs in glasses isn’t your thing.

12. Decorative Dog Gate by Fusion Gates $$$$
I fell in love with these gates at the Global Pet Expo this year. They are not definitely cheap, but they are definitely not cheaply made either! I got the chance to try it out and was thrilled at how easy it was to use. Plus, the designs are just gorgeous and also interchangeable! I absolutely love products that are geared towards pets, but also help make it feel like the rest of my house isn’t covered in dog hair. I’m hoping that once we settle down in a new home this year, I can get one!
