With Memorial Day behind us, we’re ready for sunshine and summer weather. There’s no better way to kick off summer than to plan for and head out on a pet friendly road trip. I love venturing out on an new adventure with my dogs, so road trips of any size are perfect.

Visiting new places with Ralph & Luna is one of my favorite activities. I adore seeing their reactions and immediate need to sniff everything in sight. Last year we ventured out on a two week road trip traveling from Northern Virginia to California and back again. We saw so many sights, landmarks, and ridiculous roadside tourist attractions while we drove 5,644 miles through 16 states over 17 days. I absolutely want to do it again!

Recently, I took another trip with the dogs by myself when I traveled from Northern Virginia to Myrtle Beach to Akron, Ohio and then back home to attend the BlogPaws Conference and to see my cousin graduate from high school! It was a busy trip, so we weren’t able to stop at as many milestones along the way, but it was great company to have my dogs along for the ride.

Rolly is an Old English Sheepdog gotten as a puppy. He likes to sleep and watch the neighborhood going-ons.

  • Jason Diehl

Velveeta, Sammer Jams and Zoey Monster are all spoiled. Veeta and SJ like to go on hikes, Zoey likes to be carried on hikes

Otter and Abby are my two fawn pugs. They both came to me separelty from Seattle Pug rescue. Abby is a senior and enjoys riding in the car and short strolls. Otter loves exploring everything, adventures, car trips, walks, dog meetups, playing ball, the dog park, and so much more!

  • Wen Budro

Our two dogs are both rescues. They love getting in the car because it means a trip to the beach or dog park. This looks like a wonderful product.

  • Linda Szymoniak

I have three rescued Treeing Walker Coonhounds – Kenji, Kyoko, and Seiji. They all came long-distance from high-kill shelters in NC and SC. In fact, I only had photos and descriptions and opinions from volunteers with the shelters about all three of them. It was a total crap shoot with each one, but I lucked out. For one thing, hounds are typically very friendly, playful, and social. I actually had five at one time, but lost my deaf girl, Ran, just over two years ago (she was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder but despite constant vet treatment, passed a few months after her diagnosis). Suki was my very old girl and I had actually been prepared for when I lost Ran. Suki passed exactly one year later, to the day. She was 15-1/2. For Ran, taking long car rides and long walks were her favorite things to do. The three I still have aren’t as fond of riding in the car, but do will on trips. They’d rather go for long, long walks – and I really need harnesses for all three, since as you know with hounds, they can pull and you don’t want them strangling themselves with a standard collar. I’d love one of these harnesses for each of my dogs!

We got Beauregard shortly after losing our Riley(my profile pic).My son and daughter-in-law got him as my Mother’s day gift 4 years ago…I have said many times that this boy saved me,he is so delightful and happy.Same breed as Riley but such a different personality. We LOVE this rascal!!! https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/12902f38beee7de6272827f35a645c062618b96592482e88772da256de7b9bf5.jpg

I adopted Galen going on 3 years ago. I was looking at both boxers and German shorthaired pointers, and he’s both! Honestly he was not what I was looking for in terms of temperament (anxious, no boundaries, excitable), but for some reason I said “This is my guy.” He’s forced me learn, open my mind to new ideas, and increase my emotional fitness. He’s into a lot of things: hiking/camping/backpacking, bikejoring, nosework, trips to local dog-friendly stores and restaurants, and anything involving cheese.

  • Christine Aiello

I got my American Cocker Spaniel Coco when she was 9 weeks old. She is now 11. I got her from a breeder through someone I knew that recommended the breeder. She loves to take naps, loves to go on walks, loves to come shopping with me in her stroller, loves to go on road trips and play ball and eat treats of course!

  • Rachel Davis

i fell in love with my little girl accidentally when she was just a baby and she will be 6 at the end of the month! Her favorite activities are literally anything as long as she is with her family!

We adopted my 6-year-old Samoyed a year ago, and we knew he was going to fit in perfectly with us. He loves to sleep and snuggle, and play fetch with his stuffed animals.

  • Theresa Spaid

My old dog shunta is 14 so she mostly sleeps but my new pup loves running and going for walks. He is a very active little boyl

  • Nicole C

We have two German Shepherd Dogs: Tutera, 5yr female, and Fenrir, 7mo male. Five years ago, I told my grandpa that I was thinking about getting a gsd and he knew someone with pups so I ended up with Tutera! She was the last puppy left and she was very nervous– still is, really. She is the best dog though. She loves running on the farm, chasing squirrels, and sleeping in our bed. We just got Fenrir in February of this year because we felt Tutera was ready for a buddy. We were originally looking at rescuing a kitten but my husband saw Fenrir and had to meet him. He was a skinny, adorable, ornery, three legged pup and my husband instantly fell in love. He loves playing (and rolling!) in water, chasing Tutera around (he’s desperate to catch her), and eating anything he can. They are complete opposites but they’re both great in their own ways.

  • norakb

My dog is a black rescue named Nor that we adopted from the south. She just loves to be with people – young and old! Oh, and she loves snacks!

  • Mary

We have one adorable mutt who loves car rides! This would be great. πŸ™‚

  • Ann

I have a clickit harness for my service dog and love it.
Now we need one for my son’s service dog.

Since they are service dogs, they are in the car a LOT!

  • Carolyn

My dog was adopted from a rescue 5 years ago last week! She will be 10 in July. Angel’s favorite activity is going anywhere she can with me (though sometimes she has to stay home). My physical therapist had me bring her in recently to show how she alerts for some of my medical conditions & she loved being able to go. I think she worries when I am out of sight. But she is a non-traditional service dog breed (bichon) so sometimes it easier to just not bring her than try & explain yes she really is a service dog/I am not just trying to bring my small dog everywhere & I know she is adorable & looks very petable (& loves to be petted) but you really need to not touch her right now.

  • Barbara Kesterson

We have two best buddies, Wesley is a one year old beagle and Raven is a one year old Husky. It’s been a treat raising these two together. They get into so much mischief together and no one knows how they manage to do some of the wild stuff they do so we call them Wes Raven after they mystery writer Wes Craven.

  • Molly Pitcher

I have two dogs in there always up for adventure! They are both rescues and love car rides, long walks and playing at the park!

  • Judy

We adopted our beloved dog, Bane 3 years ago from someone we knew. Our favorite activities include travelling to the beach. When we are local all he wants to do is either sleep and snore like an old man or play Frisbee or ball at the dog park.

  • Katie Marie

Roxxi is a 7 year old Chorkie (Chihuahua/Yorkie). I got her when she was just a tiny little pup. She loves playing catch more than anything else in the world. She loves all people but not always the biggest fan of dogs who are bigger than her, which is most dogs since Roxxi is only 9 lbs. Roxxi does have a sleepy pod mobile pet bed but would love a Clickit harness!

  • Shibarose

Huck and Tiger Lily are Shiba Inus who both do canine competition sports. They have titles in Obedience, Rally and Agility, and just earned some Trick Dog titles. They love to go to classes and shows.
They are the second generation of Shibas we have gotten from our beeeder, who is also our very good friend.

  • We adopted Theo when he was 4 or 5 years old. The other two were puppies when they joined our family. Theo and Nelly love to go places, but Sophie just loves to be home! I am so impressed with Sleepypod as a company and think a Clickit Sport would be perfect for Theo.

  • Terri Abbett

My boyfriend and I have 5 dogs all are rescues of some sort. Three 6 months to 22

  • Terri Abbett

2 years not 22. They came from ads on Craigslist and abandoned at the vet or at a friend’s farm on a country road. All except for 1 are also pure breds. A Vizsla (my favorite breed), a lab, a Australian Cattle dog an American bulldog and a chi mix. The lab and acd came with the bf and are now seniors.

  • Gericho

We have a new addition to our family. Toula the Airedale Terrier. She has so far gone kayaking and hiking and to the beach for water fun and is only 12 weeks old! We are a family of 4 who love having a pup/dog as a companion πŸ™‚

  • Mary W

We usually have 4 or 5 dogs who are rescues. We adopt the ones no one else wants. They are old or ugly or hard to handle but always have a home with us. My dogs love going in the pickup truck on the farm out to see the cows. They love going anywhere in the truck!

  • Renee C.

We adopted our dogs from rescues! They love riding in the car and I just want them to be safe πŸ™‚

  • jules mcnubbin

we rescued both of our dogs. Charlie is almost 3 and Bowie is 5 months old. They love walking and playing fetch! neither likes water sports lol

  • Team Beaglebratz ————-

Lady Shasta has lived with me since she was 8 weeks old – I got her from a breeder near here. She loves to lay out on the deck – snoozing while sunning herself. Of course she’ll do her tricks anytime of the year – indoors or outside as long as some kind of treat is involved. She also loves shopping at pet stores, especially sniffing out where there might be loose pieces of dog kibble.

Miss Maizie is a recent addition – 5/1/17. I had first been contacted by Flea(Jones Natural Dog Treats) about a Beagle pup needing to be rehomed and could I help. She also knew I was kind of wanting to get another Beagle after loosing my Shiloh last year. Next thing I knew – me and Flea were making arrangements to meet in Buffalo,KS – she would bring the 8 month old puppy from her family in Oklahoma and we would make the trade in Buffalo. As with many puppies, Miss Maizie has an overabundance of energy and she loves nothing more than getting out and running in my fenced backyard, preferably playing fetch with her tennis balls or playing with a frisbee.

Nala’s fearlessness helps Cody who we got when he was about 1 year old and still has a few fears like storm drains but he tends to follow Nala’s example which is great.
